Building a community-driven Shared Stewardship Model focusing on
Safer Trails ~ Greater Access ~ Trail Etiquette
We recruit and organize volunteers of all ages and trail user group interests to support trail maintenance projects called Dig Days, which are planned, approved and managed by California State Parks
We help prepare Dig Day volunteers for standards-based trail work and rewarding stewardship experiences through our peer-reviewed 1) Resources Library safety and maintenance handbooks and 2) Learning Center instructional videos

We welcome all trail user groups and individuals to help build a sustainable, results-driven Shared Stewardship model with California State Parks
Trails Are Common Ground
Since October 2023, more than 800 Dig Day volunteers have logged more than 5,000 hours servicing 10 miles of actual trail tread at Mount Diablo State Park
On average, 55% of Dig Day volunteers are Hikers or Trail Runners, and 45% are Off-road Cyclists (MTB or Gravel Bike)
